Why you should separate transactional and marketing SMS
If a verification code and an advertising campaign leave over the same channel and the same sender, one can damage the other.
The volume problem
A campaign to ten thousand recipients fills the queue. A verification code that joins behind it arrives too late — and a code that arrives too late is worthless. The customer calls your support, not your marketing.
The reputation problem
Complaints and opt-outs on a campaign attach to the sender. If you use the same sender for your critical messages, you carry that risk across.
The measurement problem
Mixing everything means you will never know whether a falling delivery rate comes from your list quality or from something in your system.
How to separate them
A separate sender name per traffic type, and for larger volumes a separate route or subaccount. The figures then stay apart and one stream cannot drag the other down. It costs little effort and prevents exactly the problem that surfaces at the worst possible moment.
