Why testing on your own number is not enough
Almost everybody tests on one device. That misses exactly the errors that make a campaign expensive.
Test across networks
Delivery differs per operator. One device tells you nothing about the rest of your list. Use numbers on at least two different networks.
Test with real rows from your file
Not with invented sample data. Take a row with a long name, a row with an accent and a row where a field is empty. Those three are precisely what expose the errors.
Watch the character counter
Check that your test message stays within one SMS, even with the longest name in your list. Otherwise you pay double for part of your recipients.
Test the link
Open it on a phone, not on your computer. A page that does not work on mobile makes your whole campaign worthless.
Test the opt-out
Reply STOP once and check that it is processed. That is the only way to be sure you will not have a problem at the first complaint.
