SMSBOX — saved messages in your account

SMS templates — write once, reuse forever

Most of the messages you send, you have sent before. Save them as a saved message and select them with a single click from now on: no typos in a text that goes out to thousands of people, always the same tone no matter who sends it, and in an emergency it saves you precious minutes.

Managing saved SMS messages in the dashboard

Why saved messages?

No typos

A text that goes out to thousands of people is proofread thoroughly once. After that, nothing can go wrong while retyping it.

One voice

Everyone in your organisation sends out the same wording, including the colleague who only rarely sends a message.

Faster when it matters

During an outage or an emergency you no longer have to draft anything: pick the text, pick the group, send.

One message, several languages

In Belgium a bilingual customer base is the rule rather than the exception. That is why you link a language to every saved message — Dutch, French, English, German or another one — so that you pick the right version straight away when sending instead of translating it over and over.

Language Saved message SMS cost
NL Herinnering: uw afspraak is op %datum% om %uur%. Niet kunnen? Bel ons even. 1
FR Rappel : votre rendez-vous est le %datum% à %uur%. Empêché ? Appelez-nous. 1
EN Reminder: your appointment is on %datum% at %uur%. Can't make it? Give us a call. 1

For every saved message you see the SMS cost: how many parts the text amounts to. That way you notice immediately when a phrasing goes just past the 160-character limit and therefore costs double. Watch out with accents and special characters — they can switch a message to Unicode, after which the limit drops to 70 characters per part.

Count characters

Fixed in form, personal in content

A saved message does not have to be identical for everyone. Put %tags% in the saved text and fill them in when sending — from an Excel import or through the API. The structure is fixed, the content adapts to each recipient.

Frequently asked questions about SMS templates

A text you compose and save once, to reuse again and again without retyping it. Think of an appointment reminder, a ready-for-pickup notification or a standard reply to a frequently asked question.
For three reasons: no typos in a text that goes to thousands of people, always the same tone and wording regardless of who sends, and considerably faster work. In an emergency alert it also saves precious minutes when the text is already prepared.
Yes. You assign a language to each fixed message — Dutch, French, English, German or another — so for a bilingual customer base you immediately pick the right version.
Yes. For each saved message you see the SMS cost, i.e. how many parts the text produces. That way you immediately notice when a wording just crosses the 160-character boundary and costs double.
Yes. Put the tags such as %naam% in the saved text and fill them in when sending, via an Excel import or via the API. That way you combine a fixed base with a personalised result.
You manage the texts in the dashboard. If you send via the API, you pass the text in the call — you can simply copy the saved wording there, so both channels send out the same message.
You can create as many as you need, and modify or delete them at any time. There is no extra cost involved: you only pay for the messages you actually send.
If you work with sub-accounts, your team uses the same saved texts. That way everyone communicates in the same way, including those who rarely send.
