Sending SMS from your scheduling software
Reminders somebody has to set up by hand get forgotten in busy weeks — exactly when they return the most.
Let the event send the message
Not a person pressing a button, but the appointment itself triggering a message a day ahead. The number of messages then equals the number of appointments, with no intervention.
Think about changes
If an appointment is moved after the reminder went out, a new message has to follow. Without that rule you send people at the wrong time.
And about cancellations
A cancelled appointment must not get a reminder. This is the mistake that irritates customers most and is the easiest to avoid.
Allow for an exception
Some customers do not want messages. One checkbox per contact, respected everywhere.
Test with real diaries
Not with invented appointments. The edge cases — double bookings, appointments without a number, appointments across midnight — sit in your real data.
