SMS for associations: reaching members without a newsletter
Associations run on volunteers and members of all ages. That often makes SMS the only channel with genuine coverage.
What it works for
An activity that is off, a changed time, a call for helpers at short notice. Those are the moments an email is too slow and a group chat does not reach everybody.
Work with small groups
Committee, helpers, participants per activity. Anyone who gets messages about everything opts out — and then you cannot reach them when it matters.
The call for helpers
This is the strongest use. Ask concretely: what, when, how long, and how to reply. A vague call produces nothing.
Practical and affordable
With a few dozen members and a handful of messages a month, the cost is negligible. The question here is not price but whether everyone was told in time.
Keep the list current
Once a year at membership renewal is enough.
